What this calculator returns

The result gives the tropical ascendant by sign and degree, the Midheaven, and the Lahiri sidereal ascendant (lagna). It does not guess when a birth time is missing.

Inputs and accuracy

Even a small time error can change the rising degree or sign. City mode resolves the recorded local clock using its IANA timezone history; a manual UTC offset is also available. If houses cannot be calculated at the location, angles are omitted and the limitation is shown.

Calculation method

Planetary longitudes come from Swiss Ephemeris. Tropical positions use the seasonal zodiac; Vedic positions use Lahiri ayanamsa. Read the exact calculation method and limitations.
