Antardasha 6 of 9 in Sun mahadasha · 11 mo 12 d
Sun-Saturn antardasha सूर्य-शनि अंतर्दशा
Sun-Saturn lasts about eleven months and twelve days and is generally the most testing antardasha of the Sun period. Saturn and the Sun are mutual enemies: authority versus restriction, speed versus delay. Tradition expects slowed career progress, friction with superiors or employers, fatigue, and separation from the father or family through duty. Property and labour matters demand patience. What survives this stretch is usually durable. Discipline and modest expectations are the classical advice.

The mahadasha behind it
Sun mahadasha is a short six year period that tradition links with authority, visibility, the father, and one's standing in the world. After the long and comfortable Venus period it feels brisk and demanding, with fewer indulgences and more responsibility. Classical texts read a strong Sun as bringing status and clarity of purpose, and a weak Sun as bringing ego friction and setbacks with superiors. Read the full Sun mahadasha.
What Saturn adds as sub-lord
Saturn mahadasha is a nineteen year period that tradition associates with discipline, labour, delay, responsibility, and the slow building of what lasts. After the expansive Jupiter period it feels heavier and more demanding. Classical texts read a strong Saturn as bringing authority earned through service and durable achievement, while a weak or afflicted Saturn brings hardship, isolation, chronic health strain, and loss. As an antardasha lord it colours the mahadasha's agenda rather than replacing it: the houses Saturn owns and occupies in the birth chart become the stage for Sun's themes for 11 mo 12 d. See Saturn as a mahadasha.
How the length is computed
Sun runs 6 years and Saturn runs 19 years in the 120-year cycle, so Sun-Saturn lasts 6 × 19 ÷ 120 = 0.950 years, about 11 mo 12 d. The exact calendar boundaries depend on the Moon's degree at birth; the free kundli lists them.
