Rahu-Saturn antardasha राहु-शनि अंतर्दशा
Rahu-Saturn lasts about two years, ten months, and six days. Rahu is conventionally treated as Saturn-like, so this pairs two similar slow, worldly forces, and tradition reads it as heavy but productive. Disciplined work, dealings with large organisations, labour, and property yield results, though slowly and with fatigue. Isolation, chronic health complaints, and separation from family through work are listed. Foreign employment is a strong theme. Gains here tend to last.

The mahadasha behind it
Rahu mahadasha is an eighteen year period that tradition associates with ambition, unconventional paths, foreign lands, and the hunger for what one does not yet have. After the direct Mars period it feels more complicated and less predictable. Classical texts read a well-placed Rahu as bringing worldly rise by unusual routes, and an afflicted Rahu as bringing confusion, deception, and dissatisfaction despite gains. What Saturn adds as sub-lord
Saturn mahadasha is a nineteen year period that tradition associates with discipline, labour, delay, responsibility, and the slow building of what lasts. After the expansive Jupiter period it feels heavier and more demanding. Classical texts read a strong Saturn as bringing authority earned through service and durable achievement, while a weak or afflicted Saturn brings hardship, isolation, chronic health strain, and loss. As an antardasha lord it colours the mahadasha's agenda rather than replacing it: the houses Saturn owns and occupies in the birth chart become the stage for Rahu's themes for 2 yrs 10 mo. See Saturn as a mahadasha.
How the length is computed
Rahu runs 18 years and Saturn runs 19 years in the 120-year cycle, so Rahu-Saturn lasts 18 × 19 ÷ 120 = 2.850 years, about 2 yrs 10 mo. The exact calendar boundaries depend on the Moon's degree at birth; the free kundli lists them.
