Rahu-Venus antardasha राहु-शुक्र अंतर्दशा

Rahu-Venus lasts exactly three years, the longest sub-period of the mahadasha. Venus and Saturn, and thus Rahu, are mutual friends, and tradition reads the pairing as materially rich: comfort, vehicles, property, relationships, and gains through foreign or unconventional partnerships. Marriage is often timed here, frequently to someone from a different background. The cautions are excess, indulgence in intoxicants, secret liaisons, and spending beyond means. Pleasant, and easily overdone.

The mahadasha behind it

Rahu mahadasha is an eighteen year period that tradition associates with ambition, unconventional paths, foreign lands, and the hunger for what one does not yet have. After the direct Mars period it feels more complicated and less predictable. Classical texts read a well-placed Rahu as bringing worldly rise by unusual routes, and an afflicted Rahu as bringing confusion, deception, and dissatisfaction despite gains. What Venus adds as sub-lord

Venus mahadasha is the longest period in the cycle, twenty years that tradition associates with relationships, comfort, the arts, and material consolidation. It follows the sparse Ketu period and is usually felt as a return to the world. Classical texts read a well-placed Venus as one of the most pleasant dashas, though a weak or afflicted Venus can bring indulgence and relationship strain instead. As an antardasha lord it colours the mahadasha's agenda rather than replacing it: the houses Venus owns and occupies in the birth chart become the stage for Rahu's themes for 3 yrs. See Venus as a mahadasha.

How the length is computed

Rahu runs 18 years and Venus runs 20 years in the 120-year cycle, so Rahu-Venus lasts 18 × 20 ÷ 120 = 3.000 years, about 3 yrs. The exact calendar boundaries depend on the Moon's degree at birth; the free kundli lists them.
